iFreeSMS have set up a service for free text messages to UK mobile phones from their website. The service seems to work very well – at TextMeFree.com we tested their service and messages arrived within seconds of being sent, even from outside the UK.
There is a small text advert appended to the end of all sms, but it’s just a simple short line of text advertising iFreeSMS.
There is no need to register to use the service or to log in in order to send free sms. There is an easy to use form on the home page and you enter the mobile phone number you want to send to and then your message. Amazingly you have up to 500 characters to use for every sms.
Hopefully this service will keep running for some time.
