160by2 wins this month’s title of best free sms service. 160by2.com was originally a free text service to Indian mobiles but it now covers several other countries: Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Philippines and Malaysia.
The service gives users 50 free sms per day although there is a limit of 10 texts to any one mobile number. The SMS are free because adverts are attached, but the ads are contextual so at least they should be relevant to your sms, and because of the ads you get 145 characters for each sms.
There is also a mobile application offered which once installed means you can send free sms directly from your mobile phone.
160by2 now have over 6 million registered users, so they must be doing something right.
